What does a fence company that specializes in staining actually do?
Cedar loses its protection long before it starts to look bad. Ultraviolet light breaks down the outer fibers, rain and Oklahoma humidity move in and out of the grain, and the board that looked new in April is gray and checked three summers later. Our services divide along that timeline. Protect is penetrating-oil staining on wood that is still sound — new fences, maintained fences, HOA and commercial perimeters. Restore is soft-wash chemical cleaning and restaining on wood that has already grayed, plus the same process on wood siding, trim, pergolas and gates. Build is cedar fence installation and replacement, to a written spec, for the fences that are genuinely finished.

Every staining service below uses the same oil-based penetrating stain and the same sequence: test, clean, stain both faces of every board. What changes is the condition of the wood and the size of the property — a first-year cedar privacy fence in Deer Creek and a 2,400-foot multifamily perimeter in Moore need different scheduling, not different chemistry.

The core service. Soft-wash cleaning, then Expert Stain and Seal® penetrating oil worked into both faces of every picket, rail and post. It soaks into the fiber instead of forming a film on top, so it fades evenly and never peels, blisters or flakes.

New fence staining
Cedar arrives from the mill mostly kiln-dried, so there is no mandatory waiting period. We meter every fence: below 18% moisture we stain, above it we watch the weather and stain when the wood is ready. We don’t rush to failure.

Stain color consultation
Auburn, Pecan, Chocolate and Natural Cedar are our most popular colors, with plenty more to choose from. Every color is translucent, so the grain and knots stay visible. We sample on a back panel before committing the whole fence.

Preventive & maintenance staining
A maintenance coat every 2 to 3 years — sooner on south- and west-facing runs — keeps a fence out of restoration territory entirely. Penetrating oil recoats clean: no stripping, no sanding, no peeling film to fight.

Restore
Cleaning and restoration services
Gray is surface oxidation — dead fiber on the outer millimeter of the board, not structural failure. Under it, sound cedar is usually waiting. Restoration removes that layer with soft-wash chemical cleaning and locks the result in with penetrating oil. Weathered does not mean finished, and replacement is for failing posts and rotten rails, not for color.

Wood-safe chemistry dwells on the boards and dissolves gray oxidation, mildew, algae and Oklahoma red clay, then a low-pressure rinse carries it away. No wand marks, no fuzzed grain, no water driven into the wood. We never pressure wash cedar.

Gray-wood restoration
The full sequence for a fence nobody has touched in a decade: assess the posts and rails first, soft-wash the gray off, let it dry, walk every panel, then stain. If the framing is failing, we tell you before we sell you anything.

Fence restaining
For fences already on penetrating oil. A light maintenance wash, then a recoat matched to the original color — faster and cheaper than a full restoration, and the reason a well-kept fence never needs one.

Painted & film-coated fences
An honest limit: a painted fence cannot be returned to a natural penetrating-oil finish. Paint does not come off cedar well enough for oil to reach the fiber. The route forward is recoating with a solid film-forming stain — we most often use Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck or WoodScapes — and a film coating is maintained, not restained.

Cedar fence installation services
A fence built to a spec, not to a bid. The parts you never see decide how long it stands: #1 grade Western Red Cedar, heavy-duty steel posts, American-made brackets and fasteners. A less expensive fence is always available. It is usually the same fence twice.

The materials behind every service
Specificity is the whole argument. Two companies can both say “premium” and mean different lumber, different posts and different chemistry.
Expert Stain and Seal® penetrating oil
Ultra-low VOC, kid- and pet-friendly, no harsh chemical smell. Truly self-leveling, so it soaks in and evens itself out; horizontal fences and a few other cases still get back-brushed, and we do that where it’s needed.
#1 grade Western Red Cedar
Naturally rot- and insect-resistant, stable through Oklahoma’s swings between drought and downpour, and it takes penetrating oil the way pine never will.
Steel posts, American-made hardware
Heavy-duty steel posts set in concrete, with brackets and fasteners made here. Posts are what fail first on a wood fence, and they are the part nobody inspects at the estimate.
Soft-wash chemistry, never pressure
Cleaning is chemical, not mechanical. That is a deliberate limit on what we will do to soft cedar with a wand, and it is why our restored boards still have grain.

Do I need cleaning, restaining, or full restoration?
If the fence was stained within about three years, a maintenance clean and recoat is usually enough. If gray has crept in, it needs soft-wash restoration first. If posts or rails are failing, staining is money spent on a fence that is already leaving, and we will say so. Two photos are normally enough for us to tell you which one you have.
Do you stain and build, or only one?
Both. We build cedar fences to a written spec and protect them with penetrating oil, and we stain plenty of fences other companies built. Staining and restoration are still the larger share of the work — that is where the expertise came from.
Can a painted fence go back to a natural stain finish?
No. Paint does not come off cedar well enough for penetrating oil to reach the fiber. The route forward is recoating with a solid, film-forming stain — most often Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck or WoodScapes — which is maintained as a coating rather than restained. We would rather set that expectation now than after we take your money.
Do you pressure wash fences?
No — soft-wash chemical cleaning only. High pressure on soft cedar carves grooves, fuzzes the grain and drives water into the boards. Wood-safe chemistry dissolves gray oxidation, mildew and red clay without any of that.
Which stain do you use, and in what colors?
Expert Stain and Seal® oil-based penetrating stain, in Auburn, Pecan, Chocolate and Natural Cedar plus plenty more to choose from. It is ultra-low VOC and kid- and pet-friendly, and because it fades instead of peeling, recoats are clean-and-apply — no stripping, no sanding.
