Accessibility Statement

We want everyone in the Oklahoma City metro to be able to use this site and to get a quote from us, whatever technology they use to browse. This page says what we have done, what standard we are working to, and how to reach us if something on the site gets in your way.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the benchmark most commonly referenced for public-facing websites in the United States. We treat it as an ongoing target rather than a box we have ticked once.

• Text and background colors are checked to meet AA contrast ratios, and no information on the site is carried by color alone.
• Every page can be navigated by keyboard, and interactive elements show a visible focus outline.
• Headings are used in a real hierarchy so screen readers can move through a page by structure.
• Photographs carry descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology so they do not add noise.
• Form fields have labels that are readable by assistive technology, required fields are marked in text as well as in color, and tap targets are at least 44 pixels.
• Body text uses generous line height and a comfortable measure, and the layout reflows on small screens and at increased zoom without content being cut off.
• Animation is limited to short, subtle fades, and it is switched off entirely for anyone whose device requests reduced motion.

Two areas are honest gaps rather than finished work.

The interactive service-area map uses OpenStreetMap tiles, and map imagery of that kind cannot be made fully meaningful to a screen reader. For that reason every city on the map is also listed as an ordinary link on the same page, and the full list of communities we serve appears in text on the Service Areas page. Nothing is available only through the map.

The before-and-after comparison slider is operated by dragging or by a range control. The range control is keyboard-operable, and the two photographs it compares each carry alternative text describing the fence before and after, so the point the comparison makes does not depend on being able to use the slider.

We have not yet had the site audited by an independent accessibility specialist. That is a fair criticism and it is on the list.

Parts of this site rely on services we do not control, including map tiles and, on the live site, the form and analytics tools running on WordPress. We choose accessible options where we have a choice, but we cannot guarantee the accessibility of software supplied by others.

We are glad to walk the property in person rather than working from photographs, at no extra cost, and we can read a quote to you over the phone instead of sending it in writing.
