Fence Staining Service

WOOD FENCE STAINING SERVICES BY A PROFESSIONAL: WHAT TO EXPECT

WE OFFER PROFESSIONALISM FROM START TO FINISH

DON'T TRUST JUST ANYONE WITH YOUR WOOD FENCE STAINING PROJECT

With Patriot Stain and Seal® our wood fence staining service begins with a site assessment. During this assessment we determine the condition of your wood fence, or structure, and see if wood cleaning or other prep work  is required.  We determine what steps will be required to appropriately stain the fence, while also protecting your house and surrounding neighbors from overspray. When choosing us, you can be assured that your swimming pool, pool equipment, patio furniture, and other outdoor amenities will be covered with the necessary tarps as required.  In addition, when providing fence staining services we ensure landscaping in the path of overspray will be covered with cloth to prevent damage.

PROJECT ASSESSMENT

First thing we do is assess your wood fence staining project to see what will be required to complete the job. This includes inspecting the condition of the wood, what obstacles we will need to work around / protect when completing your job, and what tools and materials will be required. From here we work with you to complete a quote. REQUEST A QUOTE

WOOD CLEANING

If the wood has been left exposed to the elements without a quality oil based stain, chances are it has begun to turn gray, and mold and algae have grown on the wood. If required, as part of our fence staining service we will chemically clean the wood to prepare it for staining. If this process is skipped, the stain will look uneven, and splotchy.

WOOD FENCE STAINING

Once we have completed all the prep work, the wood is stained with an oil based penetrating stain. This seals the wood as well as the oil in the wood will not allow moisture to penetrate the surface. Much like they use to oil ship timbers to keep water out of the wood, the same principle is used to protect your exterior wood surfaces.

Ready to GET YOUR FENCE PROTECTED? Follow these easy steps

STEP 1 | SCHEDULING AN ESTIMATE

First we come by to provide a detailed estimate of what will be required to complete your wood fence staining project. Fences, pergolas, and decks are inspected and measured to determine general condition, how much material will be required, and any other special considerations to complete your project. You do not need to be home for us to complete your estimate, but the gates will need to be unlocked and pets will need to be put up. In some cases we can use geo data to pull fence line measurements without needing to come by. You can request an estimate by clicking below or you can call or text 405-697-8778 to schedule one. If you text please include your name, address, email and services you are interested in.  A few pictures of what you are wanted stained helps speed up the estimate process.

STEP 2 | REVIEWING ESTIMATE

Once completed, we will email you a detailed estimate explaining what work will be required to complete the project along with a fixed price. What you see on your quote will be what you will pay, nothing more unless there is a change in project scope.  If there is a change in scope, you will be provided a revised quote for you to accept.

STEP 3 | PICKING A COLOR

We exclusively use Wood Defender oil based penetrating stains for all of our exterior stain work.  Wood Defender has a match for most commercial stains such as Ready Seal, Stain and Seal Experts, Bakers Gray Away, and others.  Unfortunately we do not complete jobs with owner provided stains.  We can complete stain projects with select stains from Sherwin Williams on a case by case basis if we determine a solid stain is a better choice for your project.  You can see a complete list of our Wood Defender Fence Stains by clicking below.

STEP 4 | ACCEPT THE BID

Once you have reviewed your proposal, selected a color and all questions have been answered you are ready to electronically accept and sign your proposal.  When you accept your bid, it lets us know when your bid was accepted and when to schedule.  For the most part, jobs are scheduled in the order they were accepted.

WARNING!!!

Unlike some of “Them Other Guys”, Patriot Stain and Seal NEVER requests a deposit up front!  Be EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS of contractors that require money up front.  If your fence staining contractor cannot afford to buy supplies for your job, that is a great indicator that they have trouble running their business effectively and there is NO GUARANTEE that you will ever see them again!  We are fully insured and A+ rated by the better business bureau.  We only ask for payment when the work is completed and you are completely satisfied with our work.

STEP 5 | SCHEDULE THE WORK

This can be the trickiest part of the process due to Oklahoma’s unpredictable weather.  In order to complete your stain project the wind needs to be relatively light – Below 12 MPH – and the wood needs to be dry – below 15% moisture – which we measure the day of.  It is possible that you accept the bid and we say we are 1 week out, and due to Mother Nature it takes us 3 weeks to complete the project.

Our number one goal is to make sure your fence is stained properly.  If the wood is too wet, it will fade prematurely.  If it’s too windy, we run the risk of getting stain on things other than your fence.  The more flexible you are with the schedule, the easier it is for us to work around the weather.  If you need a specific time and date, the harder it will be to get the job done as we don’t know what the weather will be doing at any specific time.  If your fence only needs to be stained, it can usually be completed in one day.  If it needs to be cleaned first, it will take two days to complete with time in between for the fence to dry from cleaning.
